Classroom Reveal 2015

August 11, 2015

It’s teacher week and I’m sharing my classroom in Bloghoppin’s linky party. I love checking out other people’s classrooms.

Okay, it’s time for my classroom reveal for 2015. Let me level with you first, my room is not “done.” We had to pack up everything for the summer and got new floors so I spent lots of time unpacking. My bulletin boards are missing letters and I’ve done some strategic shoving but it was good enough to start the year with my kiddos today.

This is the view from my door. I’ve rearranged quite a bit this year and I’m loving the arrangement.
I’m loving my storage bin seats. I got the idea from Mrs. Wills Kindergarten.

My new magnetic board. The letters and numbers are a little funky so please ignore that.

My classroom library is my favorite spot in the room. It’s so cozy with my new gray accents and the white bookshelves.

All the buntings are from Target. Most of them are from the party section. A few of them are from the Dollar Spot.

As I said before, my bulletin boards have not letters yet but that’s totally okay. I got the mirrored stars idea from Amy Lemons. These are so fun and they are peel and stick. Plus isn’t my little owl face cute. I have no idea what’s going on this board but I just love the owl.

The bags at each of the desks are for student supplies that come in. Such an easy way to get them organized and see who has brought them in.

These owl beanbags are so soft! I got them from Hayneedle.

My little gray toy bench was a clearance find from HomeGoods. Perfect for my color scheme!

So today was the first day and I’m exhausted! Off to bed for this tired teacher.

  1. Your room looks awesome! Question: The green baskets, are there only certain things kept in them or do you use them for community supplies? I'm leaning toward community supplies at each team (my groups are called teams) but I'm not sure yet. Thanks. Hope you have a wonderful year.

  2. Your room looks wonderful. I love your library – are those IKEA shelves? So, what happens with the paper bags for supplies? Do you have to go through them all to collect and organize the supplies? That is my absolute most DREADED part of the first day of school!

  3. Your room looks great! It's bright, cheery and organized without being too overdone. I like that you actually have "stuff" in bins around the room like most of us and it still looks tidy. I have started a collection of plush characters that I am going to display in my library as well. Have a great year!

  4. Looks beautiful! I'm feeling your pain about having to set up from scratch. Last year there were renovations in my room and they weren't finished when school started. Looks like you've done a great job making a welcoming space for your students.

  5. I love it! One thing that has really helped me with first day supplies is adding a "meet the teacher" the day before school starts. I send postcards and invite kiddos and parents to bring all supplies and tour the room, etc. I put out bins for each thing i want to collect and have parents help organize their own child. I also put out a cup of Sharpies for that last minute labeling. It works so well, Parents really appreciate it.

  6. You're room looks fantastic! It's a killer having to start over and spend a huge chunk of the summer at school, but your hard work really shows 🙂 Your new crew is going to L-O-V-E it!
